Welcome to the Backyard Ale House

In 2008, the Backyard Ale House was formed through a life-long friendship and a love for beer. Each one of us, have lived in towns away from Northeast Pennsylvania and were able to sample a wide variety of craft and imported beer products. We wanted to integrate many of the fantastic beers and ideas that we have experienced, in our collective journey, under one roof. The Backyard Ale House is our representation of that journey to date.

The Backyard Ale House facility features two fabulous bars including Downtown Scranton’s largest outdoor patio. We stock over 400 different types
of bottled beers and have 28 rotating drafts. We were rated as having the “Best New Bar” according to Electric City 2008 and “Best Happy Hour and “Best Vibe” according to Electric City 2009 readers.

We will always continue to evolve, because of the men who own it, the employees who work there and most importantly the customer’s who visit.
